Airport Pick-ups

Higher Learning will provide free airport pick-up / drop off service for those who are staying in the conference hotel(s) and book thru the reservation form in the GLoCALL website or by e-mail to cinta.adinda@higher-learning.co.id or ike.andriani@higher-learning.co.id

Taxis

Jakarta
Only take Blue Bird taxi (compact cars) cost about US $10 (IDR 100,000) from the airport to Ciputra Hotel or Silver Bird taxi (premium cars like Mercedes Benz) cost about US $15 (IDR 150,000) from the airport to Ciputra Hotel.

Yogyakarta
Take the Airport taxis which cost about US $4 (IDR 40,000)

Note that taxis only accept Indonesian Rupiah

We will not recommend GLoCALL participants to take the bus from the airport to the hotel in either city. It’s confusing and there are no English speaking staff in the bus.

Dear GLoCALL 2008 International Participants,

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia has prepared a tour and luncheon at NO CHARGE for all GLoCALL 2008 international participants on Monday, November 10, 2008 in Yogyakarta

The timeline is:

11:00 Meeting Point at the Lobby of Grand Quality Hotel Yogyakarta (Conference Hotel)

11:00 – 12:30 Tour of Yogyakarta Palace (Keraton Yogyakarta )

12:30 – 13:30 Lunch (provided by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism)

13:30 – 15:00 Tour of Prambanan Temple (Hindunese Temple)

15:00 – 17:30 Tour of Borobudur Temple (Biggest Buddhist Temple in the world. It’s one the old version of 7 wonders of the world)

18:30 Back to Grand Quality Hotel Yogyakarta
